Founded in 1902 as a women's chorus, the Chorale of the Friday Morning Music Club became a mixed chorus in 1986. In its most current version, the Chorale has presented two major concerts each year, each accompanied by full orchestra. The Chorale has performed works by many of the major choral masters and has focused on works not normally performed by many choruses.
The FMMC Chorale is currently searching for a new director. Its 2013-2014 season will be replaced by a series of choral workshops in which new conductors will be auditioned. It is expected that the Chorale will recommence operations for the 2014-2015 season.
Details related to the four scheduled workshop sessions may be viewed here.
In addition to the support it receives from the Club’s General Fund, the Chorale draws from a fund dedicated to its use. For information on how to contribute to the Chorale Fund, please go to our Donations page.
