ABOUT THE FMMC ORCHESTRA

Founded in 1943 as a string ensemble, the FMMC Orchestra developed into a full symphony orchestra in the 1970's. The orchestra consists of highly qualified players, professional and amateur, all of whom donate their services. Although it maintains an amateur status, the orchestra has earned an outstanding reputation for its excellent performances. It is a community-based organization and presents four to five concerts annually serving the entire Washington Metropolitan area. The Orchestra recently selected Pablo Saelzer as its new Music Director (see Music Director Search for more information). Saelzer succeeds Sylvia Alimena, who served as Music Director for nine seasons.

Programs of the Friday Morning Music Club are open to the public free of charge, with no tickets needed. Programs are subject to change without notice. The Friday Morning Music Club is a member of the United Arts Organization.
