chamber@fmmc.org

The Friday Morning Music Club presents free noontime chamber concerts each Friday from October through May in downtown Washington, and monthly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at other venues in the District and in suburban Maryland and Virginia. We offer varied and interesting programs that include rarely heard gems as well as familiar favorites. Each program is approximately one hour in length.

These programs—and the programs on our Composers Series—feature the Club’s solo and chamber performing members, skilled amateur and professional singers and instrumentalists admitted to performance status by audition. Our performing members value this opportunity to share their talents, which they donate in keeping with the Club’s mission of public service. Because space is limited, groups wishing to attend performances at Dumbarton House or the Mansion at Strathmore must make prior reservations.

Additional Performance Opportunities

Solo performing members can appear as soloists with FMMC’s Avanti Orchestra and the FMMC Chorale and in Master Classes (currently offered only for piano). Both solo and performing members are eligible to participate as Orchestra or Chorale members. Any Club musician can perform in our Outreach program.
