Founded in 1902 as a women’s chorus, the Chorale of the Friday Morning Music Club became a mixed chorus in 1986. Now beginning it’s fourth year under the direction of Mr. Paul Leavitt, the Chorale is continuing its efforts to become a major contributor to the Washington, DC musical scene. Mr. Leavitt is an accomplished pianist and composer. An abbreviated biography may be found here.

The Chorale will have a very busy season this year. In October, the Chorale will present Mr. Leavitt’s Requiem on October 6 and 7 at the Church of the Reformation followed by a 10-day tour to Germany and Lithuania to present the Requiem in Hamburg and Vilnius.

The second concert, also with two performances, will be held January 12 and 13 at the Church of the Reformation This performance will feature the Mozart Requiem. A second work is yet to be selected. Further details are listed below in the Concerts section.

Finally, the Chorale will again perform on April 27 and 28 at the Church of the Reformation. This final concert for the year will feature Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil.
