THE WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR COMPOSERS
The winners of the 2006 Composers Competition are as follows:
First Prize: Nathan J. Stumpff, "The Righteous and the Wicked," String Quartet
no. 2
Second Prize: Clinton D. Needham, "Shades of Green," for String Quartet
The First Prize-winning piece was premiered at the Kennedy Center Terrace
Theater on Sunday, May 21, 2006.
The competitions are held every 3 years.
