THE WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SINGERS

The Fifty Fourth Annual Competition for Singers
is scheduled to take place March 2 & 3, 2007.

The deadline for application is January 8, 2007.

Links will soon be available to access all forms and checklists required for application.

1. Applicants must not be under professional management.
2. Applicants must be neither younger than 18 nor older than 32 as of March 3, 2007 (proof of age, please.)
3. First prize winners of this competition in past years may not apply.

1. All items of the application must be postmarked no later than January 8, 2007
2. Semifinalists will compete on Saturday, March 2, 2007.
3. Finalists, selected after the semifinal auditions, will compete in the Terrace Theater of the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on Sunday, March 3, 2007.
4. Semifinalists may bring their own piano accompanists at their own expense (travel, housing, etc.). Other semifinalists will be accompanied by the official competition pianists and will have approximately twenty minutes time with them just before appearing. Those candidates who advance to the finals will have scheduled rehearsals with the official accompanist of approximately 20 minutes. If bringing your own accompanist, arrangements for rehearsals will be your responsibility.
