Avanti Orchestra Auditions

Avanti Orchestra is a community orchestra based in Washington, DC. It comprises approximately 65 musicians. Performance venues include Cultural Arts Center, Church of the Epiphany, Schlesinger Concert Hall, and the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater.

Requirements

• Instrumentalists interested in becoming Orchestra Performance Members of the Club should arrange an audition with the Orchestra Manager using the contact form below.
• The candidate is required to prepare a selection of his or her choice, plus two orchestral excerpts (sent in advance to applicant), and play them before a three-or-more member orchestra audition committee.
• Performers who have achieved FMMC Solo or Chamber Performance Membership through audition may play in the orchestra at the invitation of the orchestra committee

Auditions for String Musicians
Schedule with Orchestra Manager orchestra@fmmc.org and include a brief bio of music experience. Until further notice, all auditions will be by virtual submission. Instructions will be emailed upon request.

Virtual Submission

An applicant for Avanti Orchestra may opt, in lieu of a live audition, to submit a virtual audition in video (not audio) format via YouTube. Video audition submissions may be submitted at any time during the year. FMMC endeavors to provide a decision within one month of submission.

FMMC has the right to refuse submission materials if they are not submitted correctly and following these guidelines.
